In a world where everything costs money, libraries have remained free to use. They are there to be used by the public, at no cost. Many libraries have even done away with late fines. They are a rich hub of resources that exist for the public to use completely for free. Libraries have free Wi-Fi, computers, and printers that members of the community can use.

Libraries, to fuel community engagement, will hold programs. These programs could be instructional, social, and informational. There are book clubs, writing workshops, crafting events, and anything else you can think of. These programs connect poeple and, like most library services, are completely free

For quite a while, I've seen commentary online about a lack of third locations in modern social lives. The library is a great option for such a place. Many have conference rooms that you can reserve, and plenty of comfortable seating options. Using libraries as your third place could be the start of a new wave of third places that benefit the community.

There's so much more in libraries than just books.

This may seem self-evident, but yes, there are buildings filled with free books that you can take home and read. And everyone who works in these buildings inevitably loves to read and believes in the community services that libraries stand for.
