Warmup Writing prompts
1/ Honing your observational skills
Choose an item or a location and write at least a page of in-depth description. Focus on the minute details, and try to get as specific as possible. The more you write for this prompt, the better.
2/ Stream of consciousness
Put pen to paper and fill as many pages as you can. It does not matter what you write, just fill the page with words. It can be nonsense; it can be whatever you want. Get the words flowing however you can.
3/ Character builder
Go to a public place and pick one person. Write a detailed description of them and come up with a backstory for them.

1/ Use these words
Write a short story with a beginning middle, and end in exactly 500 words. But, you must include the words "pebble", "silence", "fading", and "glow"
2/ Superstitions
Look up "superstitions". Pick one and write a story about it. In this story, make this superstition have real-world effects/ consequenses
3/ Animate the inanimate
Pick an inanimate object and write a day in the life of that object for its perspective
4/ Pandora's box?
A character opens something that really should have remained closed

Make a list of confessions. Start each sentence with "I am", "I confess", or "I admit".

3/ Oddball
Make a list of all the words you think sound funny or you enjoy saying. Compose a poem with as many of them as possible.
4/ Memory
Start every line with "I remember".
5/ Abstraction
Take a concept and defamiliarize it. For example, write a poem about what sunshine tastes like.

Write a poem about how to write poetry
